Pasture Raised Duck Eggs

What are pasture raised duck eggs?

Pasture raised duck eggs of course start with pasture raised ducks. This means that the ducks producing Utopihen duck eggs spend most of their time outdoors, where they get to put their natural foraging skills to work, eating grass, other naturally occurring greens, and insects. Since ducks are herd animals, they stick pretty close together as they make their way around, but they still make pretty good use of the sizeable open pasture.

Pasture raised ducks produce quite large, very nutritious eggs with a rich colored yoke. The larger yoke in duck eggs makes them great for baking recipes, or even just for a richer, creamier version of any favorite egg dish.

Duck eggs vs chicken eggs

Duck eggs and chicken eggs are fairly similar, but there are some key differences between the two. The most obvious difference is the size, with duck eggs being noticeably larger than even jumbo chicken eggs. Their are some nutritional differences as well, with duck eggs having up to nine grams of protein vs chicken eggs having six, and 100mg of omega-3 compared to 37mg in chicken eggs. Like chicken eggs, duck eggs contain all nine essential amino acids, as well as vitamin D3, calcium, iron, and potassium.
